It's sad that we only got a week of actually summer heat. Now it's gone, and it's back to regular days of carrying around sweaters for the cold night breeze. It's good for me though since I actually like cold weather and what not. Anyway, finally an outfit post. I've been kind of lazy and unproductive lately - staying up til 6AM and sleeping til 3PM. It's gonna be a bitch to return to regular sleeping patterns once school starts haha.

Also, The Bay (a Canadian department store) that I live near just started selling Rachel Roy stuff, and I came across the jewelery that they carried! Mind you it's not quality stuff, but it's moderate for what it is. Anyway, I got this awesome coiled snake ring for $40 and fake spike earrings for $35. I love the earrings because I wear them with the stopper in the front, which looks like I actually stretch out my ears and have gages haha, which I'd love, but stretched out ears don't look god when you take them out, and your ears don't go back to normal haha.

Watched an awesome yet low budget and sort of corny indie movie called Teenage Dirtbag and was blown away that it had me tearing up and everything! At times the dialogue is crap, and all of a sudden, it gets emotionally poetic and genius. Plus, Scott Michael Foster from Greek is in it, and I have a TV crush on him haha. Seriously, watch it.

Lace and see-through mesh button up, it's my attempt to try and be summery and colourful haha. Sorry, no matter how hot or humid, I will always be wearing black, and sometimes I feel like some black cloud amongst all the other people walking around in short shorts and colourful florals and whatnot, oh well...

To my surprise, while browsing through online shops, I found out that Urban Outfitters finally lowered it's shipping rates to Canada, and it's about freaking time, I mean seriously, they actually thought that people from Canada were gonna pay $60 USD for shipping?! They finally got slapped with the reasonable stick and are now charging a $10 flat-rate and free shipping over $150 purchase. ABOUT TIME! Here's some stuff that I can see owning in the near future, which I'll have to buy online because most of these items are only available online...

And I just got that double finger ring from there recently and it's been my favorite, can't go anywhere without it. The only problem is that my skin is super sensitive towards copper metals, causing my skin to turn green when wearing cheap jewelery, so it's made my fingers green and the silver coating has faded with sucks. But here's a trick to save cheap jewelery from fading out! Coat it with a layer of clear nail polish. Did the trick for me :)

And over the last few weeks I went to a couple of concerts...
First off, my friend won tickets to Faber Drive so I accompanied her, but yeah, I'm not really into that type of music, plus there were way to many little kids everywhere going crazy, so I don't think it's worthy of a mention, but apparently I learned that I look 15 according to the kids there lol.
The other show I went to was The Temper Trap. It was utterly amazing. The atmosphere was great, everyone was enjoying it and I genuinely had a great time. First off, Elizabeth opened for them, and they were pretty good. I did a little recon before the show and listened to some of their stuff and they give off a sort of Joy Division/Interpol sound. Definitely give them a listen.

Next up was The Temper Trap and they were, I say again, amazing! Definitely a great concert, and they played all the songs that I wanted, and the Drum Song, which is my favorite, was superbly epic. The lead singer had his own tom and cymbal setup in the middle of the stage and when it was time, he poured water all over the drum and started pounding at it, which made a really water display.

First is Passion Pit, they were good and well-awaited since I bought a ticket back in the summer, but they cancelled it and rescheduled to December where they cancelled yet again. And when they got on stage, they kind of addressed the cancellations and said well hey, shit happens, what can you do? It's funny because there was suppose to be an after party, but that was cancelled last minute due to scheduling conflicts....I just felt like they didn't have that great of an audience presence, but it was good music. The second is Jamie from The xx, he had an okay DJ spin and I went cause I couldn't get tickets to the xx concert haha. I was hoping that his band would of shown up with him, but they didn't. And third is Designer Drugs, and it was pretty damn good.

Finally, all my school work is done with and I'm actually on track according to the syllabus. It was tough though because I literally did NOTHING during the Olympic break that constituted as school work haha. Man, now that it's over, I can actually sit at home without all the bussel of going out every night. Seriously, my room was a hotel room in which I only used for sleeping. I'm kind of sad now that there aren't crazy parties to go to every week. So I was shopping downtown and found this super awesome puffer jacket at Zara. It was such a steal too so I had to get it along with a strong shouldered blazer. Sadly, the weather here all warm and everything, so I kind of look stupid wearing it around campus, but whatever haha. Also I recently misplaced my camera and had a mini-freakout until I realized that I left it at my friend's house due to a durnken night, and no one thought to tell me later on that it was there until I started panicing a few days later...so i'm using my mom's new camera that my family got her for xmas. Because of this, I've gone on a picture frenzy so hope you enjoy! This is what can usually be found in my bag.

MBMJ wallet, MJ makeup bag from the perfume gift set, BDG super slouchy toque, KRINK marker, IPOD touch, rabbit fur ear muffs, H&M leather gloves, ICEBREAKERS in spearmint (I cannot leave the house without a fully stocked package of these mints, I pop them like an addict).

And my current shoes of choice seen in my pictures. They were such a steal and are super comfortable, I could walk around in them all day long. I love you, Chelsea Premium Outlet Mall. lol.

And these are my current reads at the moment. Because it takes me around 1.5 hours to commute from school and home, I go through books pretty quickly haha.

And for your readers enjoyment, 30 of my most played songs on my iTunes. Sometimes when I really love a song, I'll put it on repeat for a long time, and also when I study/do school work I play them on repeat. Sometimes I get tired of them too, but after a few months break, I fall in love again. For instance, right now I'm listening to NO ONE'S GONNA LOVE YOU - BAND OF HORSES on repeat. What can you say? I'm shameless.

By the way, in my total lack of assignments and what not, I've been catching up on my TV shows and fell in love with MISFITS. It's an E4 show, so it's only in the UK but you can find it on youtube. Watch it!

First week of school is just so...not cool. It's sad that all my classes from last semester, which were perfect people-wise, have changed, making me miss my old studio crew :( It's funny that I think there's this one guys that's literally in ALL of the same classes as me...and it's like, oh hey every single class, that's cool lol. But yes, preparing for a trip to BIG WHITE on Friday! Hopefully I don't hurt myself *knock on wood* cause last time I was at Grouse, I tried to attempt a box grind at the Rookie Terrain Park, and just TOTALLY bailed on my back, and it was so embarrassing because there were people there that were pretty good, and I think I heard people yell out "HELMET" referring to the lack of one on my head as I fell. Let's just say that I'm still recovering from that, and it hurts to sleep. Or move.

Also, weather gods, please bring in some new snow up in the mountains, because honestly, it's sad when you still see grass patches, soil and rocks sticking out of the snow on a run. Also, it's not preferable when huge rocks sneak up on you and stick out of the ground, causing you to ride over them, hurting my poor little board. Let it snow, for the Olympics sake!

From Victoria, the local band just released their debut album that's very Coheed-and-Cambria-esque in which their album also tells a story, this time, about zombies (which is a personal favorite of mine). I'm a fool for zombie movies. It's funny cause sometimes, I do scare easy, and hate the dark, yet I just love zombie movies, especially Dawn of the Dead, Resident Evil and the classics of course.

Boxing Day Sale purchases. I swear this year was the most intense shopping experience in a long while. Urban Outfitters was impossibly crowded and the cashier line up snaked from the entrance. Holts was good, mainly because that where I found my joys, pertaining to the new boots I mean. I was going to buy the wedge version in black leather but they didn't have any left at Holts, thankfully though, Ash shoes are really comfortable and I'm actually able to walk around in these. Also got some Michael Kors Flats, and all the other purchases aren't worth mentioning...well, okay, just some BDG jeans + slouchy toque, and this nicely cut Zara blazer which will now become another staple.

The weather's been miserable lately. It was snowing before, and I LOVE snow, but then the clouds decided to ruin it with rain. Ergo melted slushy snow to nonexistent snow. The good thing is that I actually got to go boarding this week, my first trip of the year! Too bad it was spent on the bunny hill trying to teach my friend. Ohhh well, hopefully I'll get to go soon once somebody decides to be awesome and drive! But anyway, I was randomly browsing yesstyle, and usually I don't find anything that looks remotely nice, but I stumbled onto deepstyle, a guys brand, and they're stuff looks pretty awesome that I'm compelled to order some of their things soon!

Very good on stage. They just bring so much energy and charisma to the audience. And I met him afterwards by the merch stand. He was really nice and I got a picture too, except the girl that said she'd take it for me didn't tell me I had no flash, so it was wayyy blurry :(

The concert was visual stunning. My and my friend got seperate seats cause we were only allowed to purchase one ticket at a time in the presale or something, but I was lucky enough to find someone in my row that was also alone and that wanted to switch, so we got to sit together. Plus it was her birthday, so we were just rocking it out. Utterly awesome. Totally overthrows the concert I went to the day before (Stereos, don't ask, but honestly, they're the prettiest band I've ever seen, I was literally taken aback by the total band hotness level haha. And I met Midway State lead singer Nathan Ferraro). But yes, Lady Gaga sure know's how to throw a show. I really liked Semi Precious Weapons too, they're so grunge-rock-club-kids-new-york. Plus they were giving people sips of champagne on stage, and the lead singer changed his costumes on stage as well, haha.

But now back to your regular broadcast systems, my finals are over (YAY!) and it's time for SNOWWWW. But to keep you all entertained...

DAY ONE of actually studying. Mind you I only have one final, but I'm such a procrastinator that I probably won't have enough time to memorize everything. It also doesn't help that I'm going to TWO concerts in TWO DAYS, and maybe throwing in a trip to the mountains. I'm surprised that I even pasted high school with the lack of study-time haha.

What I've also noticed is that I'm been making a habit of sleeping til 5AM, and then not waking up until 3PM. I literally set up five alarms on five minute intervals and still, I sleep until the sun goes down, which could be a considerable factor in my laziness and avoidance of hitting the books. I needs endorphins!

Behold the treasures of Zara. I've had this bag for a while, but it's always fun just looking at it and seeing all the studding and zipper trims used in a way that works that isn't overdone. It's funny because I was just shopping downtown and fell in love with it, so I bought it. One sales associate at Aritzia even knows me as the Zara studded bag girl since she loved it and wanted to buy it as well. Bad news for her is that I haven't seen that bag in any of the stores after I bought mine, so my rule of thumb when shopping at Zara is if you're totally enamored by an item, buy it right away because Zara has a tendency of not re-stocking often (or at all). Sadly, it's not real leather, but that's okay since that means I can wear it during the wet rainy days.

Anyway, I just put an order in for these items from fashionology.nl :)

Thanks to the rainy days, these have been my staples. Yes some people may stare at me as a click-clack my way to class or down to the skytrains, but you know what? I don't care. Why have fancy clothes and shoes if you don't plan to wear them out on a daily basis. And I don't mean any disrespect to some students, but I would never be caught dead wearing a sweatpant/shirt combo to class, even if I was sick (which I was) or tired from studying the night before (which I also did today). Sooo I haven't done a feature in a while, but this bands pretty awesome! Too bad they're actually indie (as in independent, not as a genre), so much so that they're literally a garage band. I don't think they're active anymore, but I stumbled onto their myspace page a looooong time ago while searching for another band of the same name. Very random, but a GOOD random, since it got me into listening to their music, and it's pretty great, so give them a listen, and hopefully, they'll get back together and make more!

Just a quick note, I work down at Steveston Village (fishing/quiant tourist area) and right when I got off shift, I noticed tons of little girls and mother everywhere. So curiously, I followed to crowd of people and realized that Zac Efron (in the white crew neck) was there filming a movie in a restaurant called Shady Island. Sadly, my camera didn't get back from the shop, so I only had my phone camera on me, but I saw him across the street, and then again when he was in a car lol. My friend and I were walking along away from the hoards of screaming children, and his car passed by so we decided to wave, thinking that he wouldn't have seen, but HE DID lol. And waved back. All in all, I very random and sporadic day of spotting a celebrity HAHA. Lainey (Vancouver-based-wannabe-Perez-Hilton-whom-I-hate-with-a-passion) ain't got shit on that.

That guy in the red beater was super funny because all the little girls knew his name since he was one of the PR crews that held back the screaming fans (me not included because I'm not crazy). Little girls (ages below 10) were all screaming for him trying to get details, and some were hugging/tugging on his shirt/body LOL. And I know as a fact that he secretly LOVED it lol.

Too bad Zac Efron didn't do a signing or anything, it would have been nice since there weren't that many people there, 35 at most, so he COULD have signed a few autographs since some of the girls were actually carrying glossy prints of him in hopes of a signing...

Sooo I've haven't been posting in a while, but I promise to post more when I can!
Right now, I'm really liking Taylor Momsen and her new hair.

I love her style and everything too and I don't really give a hoot for people who critisize her on how "she's too young" or "where's her mother" or "how does her mother let her dress like that" blah blah blahhhh...I personally like her style and how she dresses. And hey, she's sixteen and famous, that's just how talented she is. Heck I wish I had half that motivation to do all the thigs she's already done.
Plus her band's actually pretty good. I had the chance to see them (if you read the previous posts a few months back) when they were touring with the Veronicas, and they handled the crowd well. Plus the songs are really catchy and I'm in love with the drummer LOL. Here's some for you guys...

TIPS ON SURVIVING THE MAYHEM...
- bring a side bag or crossbody bag. big purses usually have to be checked in the front.
- wear something with pockets so you can easily carry your wallet/cell phone
- grab everything that you're interested in and hug onto them like your life depends on it, because usually people like to grab at other people's thing if they're desperate.
- it's a communal changing room so if you're shy, wear some boy shorts, or a skirt/long shirt in order to try on clothes with ease.
- also watch out for your OWN clothes, especially if it's denim, because there have been many incidents where people have lost there jeans because somebody has taken them thinking that they were part of the sale.
- if you have a boyfriend going with you, he can be used as a home base to guard all your clothes. lol.
- watch out for new racks coming in from the back, they usually either hold refills or new things not on the floor yet.
- bring cash because they might give you an extra 10% off your purchase, although they didn't do that last year.

I am currently baking in my own personal oven right now. It's SOOO hot outside (and inside) that I think that I might actually resemble something towards a puddle. I also made it out to the last fireworks yesterday and it was literally a SAUNA on the bus. Thank god I booked it down to Davie & Seymour to actually get seats on the bus, but it was so humid in there that me and my friends had hands of cards to each of us, fanning ourselves with both hands. And the trek was sooo tiresome that I had sweatbangs :(

It's that time of the year again. A yearly tradition that brings all sorts of people out onto the beach. What is it though? The Celebration of Lights (aka FIREWORKS)! Yay! Lol, basically it's a fireworks competition where countries put on a 30 MIN show of fireworks with music. I haven't been to them for two years, but I decided that it was finally time to endure the craziness. The only trouble about them is that it's always super crowded and you always get flustered from bringing a whole bunch of crap, and then packing up super quickly in order to leave the beach early enough before the mobs of people start. But in all, it's pretty fun depending on the groups of people you go with. It was Canada's turn and the theme was the Wizard Of Oz. I only took a few pictures cause someone's head was in the way (note that one head in the photos lol).

But anyway, here's what's on my buying list right now...

1. Grey Blazer
Love the black lapels and sleeve lining. I see imagine this being a very popular staple item once I get it!
2. Pocket Tee
Very Kain-esque. Love all the semi-sheer materials lately because it's just so damn hot.
3. Sequined Blazer
Great for the nightlife. I don't know if I'd actually follow through and rock this.
4. Dyed Grey Skinnys
I'm so into the whole black/white tie-dye effect right now.
5. Chain Studded Purse
Verrrrry Thomas Wylde inspired and this is the next best thing since I highly doubt I'd be able to afford a real one in the next two years haha.

So I just finished watching the few episodes of 10 Thing I Hate About You (the TV Show, not the movie) and it's actually pretty addicting. Plus, I love Lindsey Shaw (the girl who played Moze on Ned's Declassified - yes I watch the Family Channel) and Ethan Peck (the guy who plays Patrick Verona) is totally hot especially his voice *melts* which is so deep and alluring haha.

The most recent episode featured songs by this new artist, The Filthy Souls, a band from Manchester. This one song they played got me hooked :)

I love sale season.
All the deals, the amazing finds, everything! And did I find anything worth while you might ask? Why YES I DID! lol. I hopped across the border to Washington this Sunday and thought that I wouldn't really have that much time to shop, since I left quite late in the afternoon and the malls all closed early, but to my dismay, I found THREE pairs of shoes for only (get this) $60 in total! I was in such a high because the craziness, but sadly, one of the heels I got already broke (aka I was trying to break them in and addicently slipped a little down my carpeted stairs which ripped the side of one shoe) but I'm planning to go back on Saturday to see if they can do anything about that, since they didn't even step out of the house yet. Also stopped by F21 to grab to slub t-shirts and what not. Also got a pair of Brown's special Jeffrey Campbell sandals that are an awesome shade of blue earlier today. In all, I've realized that I need to find a job with more than just minimum wage, or else I'm in trouble...lol.

So first up are the amazing studded sandals that I adore. Super comfortable, so if anyone's at a Nine West Outlet store, definitely give these a try. Second up are the coveted Gladiator sandals that I've been scrounging for ever since I saw them online. I literally joyed for joy when I saw them, and was even more happy when I found out that I was holding the LAST pair on the black ones in my size :)

And the Jeffrey Campbell ones I got earlier on today. Don't you just love the colour?!
Oh and in lastest news, the tickets for Vans Warped Tour finally arrived at my doorstep. I will now guard these with my life and pray that I might get the chance to meet Dallas Green :)

So my camera's busted...
But I did get to see an awesome concert this weekend - Carny, Pretty Reckless and *drumroll* the Veronicas! It was probably one of the better concerts I've been to and Taylor Momsen was actually really good, and I love her style (grunge rock). Plus the drummer for Pretty Reckless was SUPER hot (if anyone know's his name, I'd like to know! lol). The Veronicas were really good too! They definitely brought tons of energy. A hardcore fan even gave them a present from the front lines, and they took it and serenaded her during a song. Definitely awesome. I can't wait til my next music outtings - aka The Fray (08/05) and Van's Warped Tour (08/14)!

But on another note, holy crap, I just got back from watching My Sister's Keeper and it was sooo sad! I only tend to get the whole tears-rolling-down-the-cheek but so many other people in the theater were seriously full-out bawling! At times (because I'm really bad with awkward moments) I couldn't help myself but giggle quietly because of all the sobbing and sniffling when it was super quiet. Overall though, it was a pretty good movie :)

Really loving all the things that Zara has right now and I can't wait for their supposed Semi-Annual Sale (apparently starting on June 26th) so I'll be heading out again in order to score some great deals!

I'm really liking the whole MONOCHROMATIC range of shades right now, so I think that's gonna be my goal concerning my wardrobe (right now I do have a lot of black and whites, but I also have hints of blue, purple and teal which are kind of my go-to-colours). Also, adding neutral colours are a must for me as well. After wearing that laced tank, I noticed that I don't own anything else in that beige-ish colour! Literally, nothing beige, cream or anything close to ressembling that. Hopefully building a well-worth range of clothes that kind of reflects Kate Lanphear and her awesome style.

She's just so effortless and androgynous at times which looks great! What's going to be hard for me is that I don't exactly have a model-sized figure so I'll just have to try and see whats gonna work out. Sooo over the months, I'm going to attempt to be super trendy haha. Anyway, below are some of the things I wanna scourge the endless Zara racks for, ESPECIALLY if there's gonna be a sale :)

I'm super sad right now. Literally right after I took these pictures, my camera started vibrating and couldn't focus properly...and it won't stop! I've tried turning it on and off, putting the battery in and out, but nothing seems to cure it. Thank god I got that extended warranty, although it hasn't even been a year since I got it. Damn technology, I swear I have the worst luck. I've broken (and by means of broken, I mean that it just randomly stops working without me dropping it or anything) two cameras and two ipods.

But on a lighter note, I recently took a trip down the hall to my parent's closet of never used clothes - mainly because it's full of clothes circa 1980. In boredom, I decided to sift through some of the things and found a whole bunch of actual re-useable items! I found a few interesting blazers and a whole bunch of my dad's old Levis (that I'm in the process of destroying in order to make some boyfriend jeans) and awesome plaid and striped buttoned up t-shirts. So I'm going to attempt to break out the sewing machines and tailor them to fit smaller. Here's a preview of some of the blazers. One's really out there (the crazy striped one) and one's more practical (the laced one).

I also found a whole bunch of cute a-line and high waisted skirts, but sadly, they don't fit me...
I don't know if I should try selling them here (yes? no?) or sell them to a thrift store. But anyway, here's what I'm really liking right now (especially after seeing that zippered clutch on missnonhuman!)
Next paycheque I'm buying these!

Finally did some well worth shopping yesterday downtown and after seven straight hours, which didn't even feel like that much, I riked havock on my debit card at Aritzia, Zara and Urban Outfitter. Of course, because Vancouver is just...well, Vancouver...it had to rain. It's almost the END of June and my phone forecasts rain throughout the weekend! It's not really a surprise though. I mean, when it starts snowing massive clumps in February (like last year), you're bound to get use to the irregularity of the weather. But anyhow...

I felt really bad for my RM so I decided to break it out again, and in doing so, I'll fallen back in love with it. I don't even know why I haven't been using it lately (I mean look at the vivid green!). It's the MAB in Emerald Green from Resort 2007 and is ordained with awesome gold pyramid studs (which was kind of the only reason I got it in the first place).
The blazer is a new piece that I've added into my new wardrobe that is very slowly developing. I've been trying to build a more sophisticated-semi-hipster-formal-casual look for myself but with my oh-so-dwindling money supply, it will have to be a lengthily process. What's great about the blazer is that it's a open front shrug! No buttons with a strong pocket silhouette which I love. It's probably going to be my staple item in the months to come :)

But seriously, I was really scared that I wasn't going to get it, vigorously checking the mailbox everyday, which is something that I never do haha. Feeling sad and down because it didn't show up (and knowing that I would miss all the awesome finds), my mom comes into my room and gives me the postcard, saying that its been sitting on the foyer table for a few days -.-

And here's what I got so far. I only hit the Aritzia most closest to where I live and they don't really carry that much stuff, so I only got a semi-sheer pocket tee (Alexander Wang inspired)...

Jericho Beach!

It's been SOOO HOT recently
